[bomp] Psych--here first.
Andrew's a delightful, lovable character, and I could listen to him talk for
hours. BUT I'm not going to bet the farm, or even a one-legged turkey
buzzard, on Andrew's version of The Facts. Ever.

Well, take this seriously, at least, because I point blank these people in
interviews when I hear dodgy stuff. I will oppose "icons" because I can give a
shit about their "superiority" over me, the lowly journalist. I just don't
want to hear no bullshit. Anyways, you'll see Andrew and I get a little
cantankerous with each other, but all in fun. Ultimately, I asked him when it was
that the Rolling Stones cooled out the, as Nick Tosches suggests, minstrel show
without the blackface, and started getting into the ethereal Psych sound they
wound up being so good at. He said it was one night at RCA, actually, at 4 in
the morning, just Jack Nitzsche, Andrew, Phil Spector, Mick, Keith and Dave
Hassinger... a session which may have been "Play With Fire" or one of those...
(I don't have the episode handy). Point is, I don't think that Andrew is
going to lie about that on Art Fein's show, becuase Phil is watching, you know.
