Re: [bomp] More on cassettes

Yup....we had a couple of local *Tape Worlds*, again nothing but cassettes. They would have this massive cutout bin with cheapo re-issues of then 20 year old UK PopPsych. The Move, Tyrannasaurus Rex, Tomorrow, Pretty Things. The damn thing was three feet deep. With a snow shovel you could pick through it in 45 minutes, while some mall rat behind the counter was giving you dirty looks. *Tape World* - poor bastards, never knew what hit them.

Never seeing the CD re-issue thing coming, I made copies of these and put those buggers away so that my Kraco tape deck (held securely in place in my fire red 76 Pinto with sheet rock screws) wouldn't eat them.

Because of this thread, I went back and pulled out a case of casettes (on TDK and Maxell) from the 80's (The Cure, Bunnymen, Madness, Tubeway Army) that I dubbed from LP and they dont' sound as bad as I thought they would.
