The arrival of the Dodgers & Giants to the West Coast caused major
shifts in the PCL. For the 1958 season the Hollywood Stars moved to Salt
Lake City and became the Bees, the Los Angeles Angels were purchased by the
Dodgers and moved to Tacoma as their AAA team. I forget off of the top of
my head where the San Francisco Seals went (Phoenix? Honolulu?) but it
forced the move of the Oakland Oaks/Acorns to become the Vancouver Mounties
before the 1959 season.
Fred Haney, the manager of the '57-60 Milwaukee Braves, was Hollywood's
manager in the late 40's early 50's and was the 1st GM of the expansion Los
Angeles Angels 1961-64(?). Bill Mazeroski played for Hollywood in 1957 I
think.
