[bomp] to splice or not to splice, to ban or not to ban
It wasn't on my radio. That part got edited out. Only when I heard the
record did I know
it was there. Same with the instrumental break on 'Light My Fire.' Only two
of many
reasons why I started hating A.M. as the sixties came to a close.

Huh... interesting. Where were you at the time? Dave Diamond, form KBLA in
L.A., made the 45 edit somehow I believe, but KBLA and the other A.M. stations
here in L.A. played "Light My Fire" in full for the most part. Same for
"Magic Carpet Ride." This kind of thing changed radio, that's real broadcast
history stuff.
Same kind of thing happened here with "God Only Knows," "Gloria," "Try It,"
and "Eight Miles High," which were banned in many parts of the country but we
heard 'em all the time on L.A. radio. The audience wouldn't stand for that
here.
