[bomp] Blackbeard's Lost Weekend (Garage Rock Festival in Chapel Hill, NC)

Greetings & Salutations!

The Fleshtones, Mondo Topless, The Woggles, and Jimmy and the Teasers are the 
bands I like best about Sleazefest.  With Sparklefest, I really dig bands 
like The Mockers, Stratacruiser, The Glory Fountains, and The Anderson Council.  
North Carolina has another cool festival out there called Blackbeard's Lost 
Weekend (which was formerly known as the Freaky Tiki Weekend).  The festival 
takes place at the Cave in Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  I 
attended night number one this past evening.  The band that had the best 
impression on me tonight were Thee Lordly Serpents.  They reminded me of The Lyres 
without the Vox Organ sound.  Thee Lordly Serpents are from Saint Louis, MO, and 
they delivered really good gutsy fuzzed guitars and snarling vocals.  The 
Spinns were also good as usual.  The Lobsters were rocking as well.  Tonight, I 
will be doing comedy at the Cave just two hours before night number two of the 
Blackbeard's Lost Weekend.  I'll be sure to give a report, and I'll let you 
know how my comedy goes.  If there were any Bomp List or Garage 66 people out 
there tonight, I was the one in the front row with the Red Turtleneck and Woody 
Allen Glasses.
