[bomp] Cosby and Groucho: Snoozin' in the '70s
To be fair, sometimes he WAS brilliant in those circumstances. But just as
often as not, he would be standing out there earnestly dumping inanities on a
Carson studio audience that really WANTED to laugh, but just ended up being
audibly confused. It was torture to watch.
Man, that's insightful, and probably true, and a good memory to boot. I did
like his Variety Show, though, that was probably well-scripted. But Groucho
Marx wasn't that good on stage then either... yes, he was really old, but he
also wasn't putting much thought into it.
