[bomp] some positive stuff about S(low) D(eath)
Did any good music ever come out of there? The only things I can think
of are Smashmouth and STP.
Yeh, well, the Crawdaddys, the Tell Tale Hearts, the Gravedigger V (which
evolved into the Morlochs)... Plus Mark Neil has been down there on and off, he's
like the best record producer in the world when he applys himself (I guess
you can say he's tied with Nick Lowe in that respect). The Forbidden Pigs are
pretty good too, in a Rockabilly/Tex Mex thing. And A.J. Croce is very cool,
his new CD is a great Pop record. I used to like this Jazz chick he played
with Romy Kaye. But again, my fave rave group in all this has been the Nashville
Ramblers/Blackmoors/Black Diamonds. They called themself something different
in San Diego, New York and San Francisco (where they lived in different
eras), as if the planet is not connected.
