Re: [bomp] Re: Mick Green Question
I'm glad he's alive! "Is there a doctor in the house?" will never be the same again...

02-02-2004 MICK TAKEN ILL 02-03-04 UPDATE
On Sunday 01 February, Mick collapsed on stage having suffered a
severe heart attack during a sell out concert whilst playing with the
Bryan Ferry Band in Auckland, New Zealand. Fortunately, a neuro
surgeon who just happened to be in the audience, managed to massage
his heart and keep it beating until the paramedics arrived. He was
then admitted to Auckland City Hospital in a 'critical' condition.
Thankfully, he's now stable and awaiting a heart by-pass on Mon 09.
It was felt safer for him to have the procedure there rather than
risk a long distance flight home. It is of course far too early to
speculate on the future but virtually all by-pass patients make a
speedy recovery and are back doing what they normally do in weeks
rather than months. So blistering guitar work and bad jokes should be
with us for some time. Mick will appreciate all the messages that
have flooded in - many of them from Bryan Ferry fans.
