An Australian in New England (with a side trip to Detroit)

I'm going to be making a somewhat short trip to the
USA as of around May 20 to attend my wife's
grand-fathers funeral up in Maine. Hopefully the
in-laws will be willing to let me borrow a set of
wheels, & if so myself & the missus will be checking
out some rock'n'roll. So what I'm hoping to find out
if there's anything going on in the New England area
in the two weeks we'll be there for. We'll be about
four hours from Boston, so I'm hoping for something
cool like the Real Kids (man, I'd kill to finally see
Felice & co) or the Lyres/Last Ones/Classic
Ruins/Downbeat 5/etc. If Nancy or any of the other
Boston Bompers can help a tourist out it'd be mucho
appreciated. 

As for Portland, anything going on around your way
Lenny between 5/20 & 6/2? We'll be up in Deer Isle Me,
which I'm told is only a couple of hours from
Portland. 

Following Maine, we'll be heading to Detroit to visit
my family so if any Michigan Bomp listers can fill me
in with what might be happening in & around Detroit
(rock city) between June 2nd & June 7th I'd be
grateful.
