Most Recorded Song
"When Paul McCartney was in his early 20s, he wrote
"Yesterday," a song about loss and sadness. He later
attributed it to the death of his mother, who died
when he was 14. Over the years, it's become the most
recorded song in the world."

Another site sez:
"The most recorded song is 'Yesterday' by John Lennon
and Paul McCartney. Between 1965 and 1986 a total of
1,600 versions of the song were recorded. Artists as
diverse as Elvis and James Brown have covered the
song."
This all comes about due to a blipvert on the monitors
in my building's elevators stating that "Yesterday" is
the most recorded song of all time. I wanted to get
some corraboration before passing it along to the list
(a good idea for you folks who pass along "Congress
is pulling funding to NPR" & bogus virus alerts - YOU
KNOW WHO YOU ARE!).
Anyway, who are these people that think it's a good
idea to cover "Yesterday" over and over again? It's
absurd! Do they think they can actually improve on
the original.
So...what is the most recorded *garage* song of all
time??? I know that I have somehow collected a half
dozen versions of "Who Do You Love".
What do YOU think?
