Stuff like the Balfa Brothers, Crawlspace, Lee Hazlewood, British folk-rock,
soul/funk, Afrobeat, Krautrock, bossa nova - including the absolute mostest
album ever: Elis & Tom, by Elis Regina and Tom Jobim, veterans like Art
Bergmann, Alejandro Escovedo, Russ Tolman, Chuck Prophet, Matt Piucci, Jason
Ringenberg, early French psychedelic folk by Jacques Higelin, Asylum-era Tom
Waits, and other greats like Jackson C. Frank, Townes Van Zandt, Lucinda
Williams, Richard Davies, etc. I used to know my way around roots reggae as
well, though not so much anymore.
