Other music
The question was:
> Just out of curiosity, besides Nuggets, Pebbles and all, what other music do
> the folks on this list listen to?
The fact is that for my desert island choice I probably would pick Simon & Garfunkel's Bookends, and that's not because I became a daddy-o last week (thanks Jeroen, for informing the Bomp galaxy)! It's just that I enjoy this record more than ANY Pebbles volume (although vol.3 The Acid Gallery comes REALLY close). Speaking of which, here's my Top 5 of garage 45's for Jan's files (non-USA bands allowed here? NO. Kinda heavy on the psych side? YESSSS)
1) Faces - TC Atlantic
2) I'm five years ahead of my time - Third Bardo
3) Dirty old man -'Twas Brillig (No.1 in garage band names!)
4) You can't keep a good man down - The Jagged Edge
5) Feathered fish - The sons of Adam
However THE music that's on the Da Capo playlist for the last two weeks is (early) jazz. At the moment the BBC are showing the most amazing story of jazz in (I believe) 12 parts, something like 14 hours altogether. It's a total eye-opener for me concerning people varying from Benny Goodman (that piece of film of his quartet w/Gene Krupa and Lionel Hampton was simply stunning!) to Dizzy Gillespie. What a documentary...
