Stern [insert hackneyed over-used pun here]
I mentioned Howard Stern in passing, when talking about the Jones-a-thon, and
the fact that Stern's new sidekick had called in pretending to be Gene
Simmons. Then there were several posts about Howard, is he still funny, was
he ever funny, culminating in this one from Blair:
<< Don, I feel the same way about the guy as you do. I can go thru
periods of listening to him, but after awhile I get bored w/the bits. Worse,
tho', is how he treats his employees. That bothers me far more than the
repetitious "comedy." >>
Yup. I agree with that, and with what everyone else said as well. But I
have--quite by coincidence--found a good way to appreciate the Stern
show......I turn it on at about 9:30 and listen till the end......at that
point they've done all the Bimbo Interviews they're gonna do, done all the
Intern Laceration that they're gonna do, and they're about to start Robin
Quivers' News Thing........which is almost always funny and entertaining.
She reads the news and the other guys coment on it. That part of the show is
always good. The rest of it has really gotten dull and predictable. Though
that new guy....what IS his name??.....has livened things up considerably.
