Momentary delurking:
Scorpio Rising is a film by Kenneth Anger of "hollywood Babylon" fame. The film
was first premiered in 1963 and became one of the few avante garde american
films to enjoy much commercial success in its own day. ITs score was hit songs
from 61-62, no Towsend outakes.
You are probally confusing "Scorpio Rising" with a later Anger film "Lucifer
Rising" which has an experimental music soundrack done by none other than Mick
Jagger.
The soundtrack of "Scorpio Rising" is super though, especially in the context
of the movie which is actually a hell of a lot of fun, I mean its a gay biker
film with "I Will Follow Him" and "Point of No Return", Elvis' "You're the
Devil in Disguise", Ray Charles' "Hit the Road Jack" and of course "he's a
Rebel"!
Basically its one of the best films.
As for "Lucifer Rising"...its a lot less accesible especially the music. Its
like the gave Mick a lot of Mescalin and a Theramond (sp?)(you know, like Brian
Willson used) and dropped him off in the California desert and told him to get
at it.
"Lucifer Rising" gets watched for its visual explorations and Anton Levay
cameo, not for the soundtrack.
ok back to lurking...

I think "Scorpio Rising" was some art film that possibly had some Pete
Townshend demos circa '68 on the soundtrack.
