Is there a way of doing conditional compilation with the Tiger compiler
( version 5 )? So for instance something like

#DEFINE diag 1

and then in the code:

#IF diag = 1

compile this code

#ENDIF

I know you can comment out blocks of code, but this gets cumbersome when
you want to scatter a pile of diagnostic prints through a big program.

it works with with #ifdef or #ifndef as follows:

#DEFINE diag

and then in the code:

#ifdef diag

compile this code

#ENDIF

#ifndef is also possible and is useful for include files that should be
included only once:

#ifndef FILENAME
   #define FILENAME

   defines.....

#endif

Hmm,

Thats how I thought I had seen it too, but I just tried this, and got a
compile error: [7] Invalid parameter specified during macro sustitution
IFDEF

#DEFINE diag

.... lots of code ...

#IFDEF diag

... some code

#ENDIF

I also tried
#DEFINE diag 1

and also

#IFDEF diag then

and a couple other variations, but always a compile error.
Nothing in the Help file.

I recommend taking a look at the Ethernet Adaptor application notes.
There are lots of those #IFDEFs and so on inside the example codes. i
for myself didn't use them up to now.

it could be that the system files are not the latest version.
I use the #ifdef quite a lot and have no problems. The menu <Help><Tiger
Basic System Information> lists the current versions.

i have these versions

Hello, my question is regarding the Flash memory that
is availible to the program. In our application we use
sectors 0 - 3 for datalogging. The tiger is a TCN 1/4 V1.06n.

One of our customers has corrupted the memory settings
so we can't use the normal interface to download the
stored data in sectors 0 - 3.

So, does the entire flash memory get erased during
re-programming ?? I have made a small program
that can be used to extract the data from sectors 0 -3
but it seems that when I load it onto a test unit, the entire
flash gets erased.

Is there a way to extract the contents of the flash memory
from the tiger without reprogramming ???

Do you have any suggestions ?

Thanks in advance,
Roger Kelly

Thanks for that.

I downloaded the last versions of the .tac files on Wilke site, and the
#ifdef works. Interesting that the versions I found are:

[Tiger System Files]
tac0000.tac 17:11:32 13 May. 2003 Release: 01.13b State: OK
tac0000_.tac 17:11:34 13 May. 2003 Release: 01.13b State: OK
tac0100.tac 12:47:08 16 Oct. 2003 Release: 01.13g State: OK
tac0100_.tac 12:47:08 16 Oct. 2003 Release: 01.13g State: OK

There must be later still ones somewhere, but that gets me out of the
problem.

As long as you have *exactly* the same program as was used to compile
into the module, you can use the View|Evaluate Flash Data command from
the editor to download the Flash. Put the tiger back into PC upload
mode, and start the program ( menu Start|Run ), then go into View and
download the area you want.

Note that if you have made any changes at all to the source code, the
IDE will try and recompile and upload the new version, which will
destroy your data.

Probably a good idea to ensure your customers cant foul up the download
settings in future.

I notice the current program file name and date compiled are available
from the IDE ( and the downloader ) in the Tiger Status dialog. So that
must be stored somewhere in the module. Is it possible to read that out
from a running program using something like a sysvar call ? Sometimes
it would be useful when checking with a customer what program version he
actually has.

Hi,

Does anyone already use the SPI functions (SPI_SETUP and SPI_IO$)?
Where can I get more information, docs, complete examples, etc...
I donwload the source code from Wilke web site and I made a
loopback SPI test. Works fine (I think :-))
Now, I want to communicate 2 tigers using SPI driver, crossing the
MOSI and MISO ports between 2 tigers but they didn't work. The tigers
didn't communicate!
My question is: Do I need to generate the Clock on Master? How can I
do that? How the Slave get the correct clock?
Another question: On master, I configure the Clock Pin to Output and
in th Slave to Input. Is this correct?

    Thanks in advance

    Leandro
