Here is a code-fragments of PI loop. The D-component is often not really
needed

TASK PIRegulator

    lWIC = lInSubQuant ' good starting point
    WAIT_NEXT 100
    while 1 = 1                              	' in Ewigkeit - for ever
       lPA = lWRegPA				' P amplification factor
       lIA = lWRegIA				' I amplification factor
       ldev = lWBSet - lA0 			' deviation
       lval = (ldev*lPA)/1000 + (lWIC/100)	' main formula
       if lval<0 then			' lDA0: output value feed to a DA-converter
          lDA0 = 0
       else
          if lval > 65535 then
             lDA0 = 65535
          else
             lDA0 = lval
          endif
       endif
       lWIC = lWIC + ldev * lIA 		 ' new I-component 100*100/1000= 10
       WAIT_NEXT

Hi!

You might find an answer to your problem inside the application area of
www.wilke-technology.com. I didn't have the time to take a deeper look
at it but application #21 ("Read PC clock into the BASIC-Tiger") looks
like it covers your needs.

There is also a demo file called Getdate.tig inside the applications
subfolder of your Tiger Basic program folder, which could be worth a
look (I think it was this file I used for my RTC tests some months ago).

Hi
    I recently bought the SBC 4020 which has the Tiny Tiger. I interfaced
this to a 4x20 LCD HD-44780 display.
I tried running the hello world example program, but cudnt see any display
on the LCD screen.
This is the program i tried.

#INCLUDE DEFINE_A.INC
#INCLUDE UFUNC.INC
USER_EPORT ACT,NOACTIVE
TASK MAIN                            'begin task MAIN
INSTALL DEVICE #1, "LCD1.TDD", 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 80h, 8
' INSTALL DEVICE #1, "LCD1.TDD",0,0,0,0,0,0,80h,8,0eeh,0eeh,0,0,0 ' I even
tried this as i was not using led or keyboard
PRINT #1, "Hello World" 'output to LC-display
END                                             'end task MAIN

I am not able to figure out what i am doing wrong here, hope somebody can
help me with this.

Madhumita.

Presumably you are writing the data onto the display using the Tiger. So
you know what you wrote. Why try to read it back ?

Hello there,

  Does anyone have played with IEEE 4-byte floating poin data types under
the Tiger?

  We have four bytes, under the IEEE FP structure (signal * 2 ^ (e-127)
* 1.F, etc.)
and without a direct way to convert the value in the Tiger's REAL data
type. Mainly,
the EXP function doesn't take REAL arguments to process the exponential part
of the formula.

  Does anyone did it already?

Welson Jacometti

I converted 4 byte IEEE fp values to 8 byte IEEE fp values
by fiddling around with the 32 bits and making a 64 bit value.

I am not able to share my code for this due to the way my contract
was structured for this project.

I wrote this a while ago:

Sub Single2Double(long Single; var real Double)
'convert IEEE single floating point number
'to Tiger REAL ( IEEE double )
'input number is in 4 byte long
long sign,b0,b1,b2,b3,b,ll,lh,expo

sign = sgn(Single ) 'hold the sign

b0 = CUT_BITS(Single,23,8) 'cut out the 8 bit exponent
expo = (b0 - 127 + 1023)  'adjust bias
if sign < 0 then 'add sign bit
expo = expo bitor 2048
endif
expo = expo shl 4 'shift up 4 bits
b = CUT_BITS(Single,19,4) 'get upper 4 bits mantissa
b1 = expo bitor b 'combine with exponent

b2 = CUT_BITS(Single,3,16) 'cut next 16 bits of mantissa
lh = (b1 shl 16) bitor b2 'move up 16 bits and add mantissa

b3 = CUT_BITS(Single,0,4) 'get lo bits of mantissa
ll = b3 shl 20 'move up 20 bits
Double = LLTOR(ll,lh) 'convert to tiger REAL
'b0 = b0
End
