Hello Leandro,

LA> Does anyone know how to develop a new device driver (.tdd)?

There is currently no way to develop a device driver (Wilke keeps the
internal CPU (Toshiba) a secret).

The only way would be to pay Wilke to do it for you - unless your
volumes were significant, in which case the cost may be waived.

I've found Wilke to be open to suggestions, but I was fortunate not to
need any custom device drivers for my application.

If I knew more about what you are trying to do I could possibly
suggest a work around (I have been using TinyTigers for around 5
years).

Regards,

Peter Elliot

I have a Tiny tiger running on a Motherboard supplied by JED Micro.

For some reason, it will not automatically start my program when reset.

I can verify the following things...
- It has worked in the past.
- The RESET switch is being recognised by the tiger
- The state of the RUN/PROGRAM switch is being recognised by the tiger
- If I connect to the tiger through the programming port, extablish
communications (using tiger basic lite v5.0) and manually start the program,
all runs well (albeit slower that it should).
- The program is not being lost from memory it is 'stopped'

In this application, the Tiger often experiences loss of power and it is a
major problem to get it restarted. Any suggestions?

Hi Steve,
Do you, by some chance have a watchdog timer on your system?

We upgraded to a new version of T. Basic and our program no longer
ran. The problem was that it took a lot longer to start up since a lot of
RAM checks etc are done before your code is started. Our watchdog timer
tripped out causing the TT to go into a continuous reboot cycle. There is
a pseudo op that you can include that reduces the amount of RAM checking on
startup. Contact Wilke for details since I don't think it's documented
anywhere. (Our watchdog is always disabled in program mode so our program
ran fine in this mode.)

Frank

It is "documented" in the file readme.hlp (USER_POWERON) and the settings
are described in define_a.inc under the section Power-On.
I only have the german version (5.01), but I think most needs no translation:

Usage (from readme.hlp):

USER_POWERON
Wert Symbol Bedeutung
103 P_ON_DELAY setze Power-ON-Delay (1000 = ca. 1sec)

from define_a.inc:
'---------------------------------------------------------------------

#DEFINE RAMTEST 101 ' setze Optionen zu RAM-Test

Hope that helps,

Steve,
Did you include the code to load the Xlink data into the flash. The JED
Micro board needs the Xlink data file loaded into flash. So, you need to
include the lines of code as in the demo code to your code making sure the
data file is in the same directory as your source. Also make sure the
display and keyboard include file as in the include directory.

Regards,

Joe

I currently run TigerBasic v5.00f (the Full edition, not the Lite version)
but many of the new device drivers are specified for v5.01. How can I
upgrade to 5.01? The download section of the web site only carries the Lite
edition.

Cheers,

Beat
