Was Doug Yule in Iron Butterfly? What is HE doing these days?

Um...sorry to disappoint, but no Doug wasn't in Iron Butterfly. He was in American Flyer w/ Steve Katz from Blood, Sweat & Tears, but they only did two albums.Doug is currently living in the Bay Area, working and pursuing his myriad of interests. For all the crap he got and still gets about VU, he really is a talented musician and should not be looked down upon merely because he replaced an icon like Cale. I think he filled in as best he could being 19, and rather naive. Anyway, if you keep your eyes open you might run into him on AOL... :-)

There WAS a guy named Doug Yule who played Keyboards in Iron Butterfly. (Source Rolling Stone Record Guide) Whether he is the same one, I have no idea.

Well, that would kind of make sense, cause on Doug's VU album "Squeeze", he utilized the wonderful drumming talents of Deep Purple's drummer.

Guys, I can assure you that Doug Yule from the Velvets was NOT in Iron Butterfly....I don't know of some other guy named Doug Yule was in there, but it was NOT the same guy. (I should know he's my Dad..)
