Appreciatte it? Ahyes, I do.......Too. 'Ere it is! I THINK! I think...

Ok volks Gather round this ere tree stump. Yet another world tape (join up kiddies, cause when this gets real big, you'll wanna have been there in the begining! As oppossed to a pip come lately. Do it up!). WORLD TAPE 25! Yup, that's 25!

Ok, starts off with LEVEL! Never heard of this guy, the name sounds familiar, tho I can't seem to put my finger on it... you might be able to tell once you hear him. Funky *ss version of everybody's favorite Satanic nearly end of year Holiday song VIOLENT NIGHT! Ends a little abruptly but far be it from us to expect perfection from a one und only LEVEL. STill twas Perfect! Good stuff.

Nextup. VIOLENT JEUVENILLE FREAKS, by FIRESIGN THEATRE. Surprised to hear a song by a kinda sorta theatre/comedy troupe. Funky song as well. They really do it up. Killer stuff. Great grungy und gnarly guitar, undo psycho 'tude vocals. Not to mention funny. You'll be sad to hear the truth about your family, specially mom's qualludes. Killer!

Here we go Flyin the Coup, or is that coop! ALICE COOPER + THE BILLION DOLLAR BABIES, Off Schools Out. Great album. Interesting song selection, I woulda went with Gutter Cat Vs. the Jets, w/ the funky Jet's Theme, meself, but these two songs are kicken quite a bit PUBLIC ANIMAL #9 und ALMA MATER! Say goodbye to High, hellow to the COOP, don't forget em.

Stumbling into PAUL REVERE AND THE RAIDERS! HUNGRY. Dig that garage sound. Dump the backround vocals, und the happy sing along chorus and we're on our way. Cool song. KICKS is a classic. Musta been killer when it first came out, but by the millionth time you hear it, it kinda ummm, s*cks. Where are the redcoats when ya need em.

Here they are! KOKA KOLA by the CLASH! Actually don't know if I've got this song somewhere. Don't sound overly familiar beyond being the Clash. Good stuff. Freeze! (on a matchhead).

JOHNATHAN RICHMAN AND THE MODERN LOVERS. The straight 70's answer to Lou Reed. Same bubbling insane tension bubbling beneath the surface, *see* it wasn't the drugs. Nothing to rock your socks off, but totally smooth in its own sorta way. Not bad at all.

DEVO! What can you say about DEVO. This song sounds like a geetar song. SOCIAL FOOL. Where are the synths?? Hiding! Good stuff.

PETE TOWNSHENDS turn here. JOOLS AND JIM I wish I could discern the lyrics cause I'm sure that's what the songs doing here. In any case sounds like a pretty sloppy good song. A little semi machine gun vocals, there's even a spot where he actually sounds like for a sec DEVO "Everyone can have an opinion" AND I MOVED, Yikes, really, forget about Rough Boys. He's even sounding like he's effeminately affectating his voice right in the begining. Funky piano into synth. He had to announce his HMSL affairs in a press conference? This songs pretty well there.

DAVID BOWIE - MOVE ON (the bi-moving part of the tape). Classic line here. "Well I might take a train.....Might take a girl, when I move on". Wierd sounding vocals even for Bowie. Psycho backround vocals. Inneresting stuff.

BOWIE (cont) RED SAILS - A little more happening then a lot of Bowie's stuff that comes to mind. A little more involved. Good stuff. Must be old.

Great change of pace here. Killer. SATURDAY NIGHT FISH FRY by LOUIS JOURDAN, serious double entendre going down here, and a real swinging song. LISaid, funky change of pace. Well decent stuff.

Side two, this is taking some space here, yikes, gonna have to try and trim a little next time. LIVE FIRESIGN THEATRE. Truly a special und unique brand of madness. This is all 'talk', und More off the walls then what I'm familiar with already. Initially any way. Funny stuff. Great how the audience is worked into it, it's like "*Is* this live??" (or Memorex). NOT INSANE(is pretty insane)/NOT RESPONSIBLE Japaneese accent is a kick. "Absent from brain?" (:),(:),(:). Killer stuff.

One two punch from words to music. BOC - BUCK'S BOOGIE. Great Instrumental, it moves. CARLOS SANTANA&BUDDY MILES, MARBLES, Not neccly my cup of tea, but definately worth a listen. Hot sh*t! JIMI HENDRIX MIDNITE/PETER GUNN CATASTROPHE/STEPPIN STONE, totally killer stuff, first two pull ya into a non-cover of STEPPIN STONE. guitar, Oh yeah. Ends up as probably the freshest sounding Hendrix I've ever heard, totally killer, we're not talking Purple Haze here, and we're still not talking some of his more eccentric either. This is straightforward kicking killer stuff. Rips.

Dig THE JAM. Not a song I'd put on (seems they stole this tape, CD candidate! Cool) LITTLE BOY SOLDIERS. Neat song, all over the place with the Jam. Timely. Good stuff. Classic line "We're all related to your mum". Relax, only one more page here. Sheesh I need a muzzle.

XTC - LIVING THROUGH ANOTHER CUB(A). Great Great band. I don't listen to them nearly enough these days. Killer song. Tho somethings going on in the right channel, I can't seem to figure out. Yo Level, time for a new Cassette deck? Or vat? Right totally cuts out for the final song on the tape, last but definately not least. DR FEELGOOD? by that LEVEL again. Psycho Hotel Bar Volk Blues From Hell!! Great stuff, killer improvised lyrics? Killer vocal gymnastics, und killer pharmacutical suggestions! Alright kickin stuff, pick hit! Und only on TAPE AROUND THE WORLD! VOLKS. What are you waiting for! This be the bestest tape in the AREA! For use on ze list, kick back, tis on its way, you von't be sorry!
