Shocking, shocking. Townshend hits home.

Quotes from the New York Newsday (smash the Tribune Co.'s Scab News, New Yorks out of town paper) Nov 20th.

Well folks yesterday Roger Daltrey was interviewed on a local radio station. He was asked about the Townshend revelation, for those who missed it, "that his song, 'Rough Boys', was about his own homosexual experiences".

Wat? "Said Daltrey, at first: 'I've got two thoughts about it. First of all, although it is untrue, who gives a [bleep] if he's gay anyway....But if you read what it says, he never ever says he's had a gay experience'"

He was then played a tape of the Townshend interview. For those who missed said revelation.

"Townshend said the song was 'a kind of acknowledgement that i'd had a gay life....I know how it feels to be a woman because I am a woman...'"

WAT? "Daltrey's reaction? Silence. 'Roger, are you there?' Herman asked. Finally, Daltrey said, 'I'm just shocked....He has three lovely kids, I've never seen him with a man ever, or making eyes at a man or anything....'"

I just wonder if he's getting sprayed down as we speak, running around going. Pete Townshend? Never heard of him. Who? oh yeah the Who, I think I was in that band a long time ago, I don't think Pete was in the band then tho. Pete? Pete. Pete Best. Townshend? Never met the man.
